Case Study - Asia Pacific Service Centre
6 Consulting were asked by one of the world’s largest oil companies to develop a sustainable recruitment model for their newly established service centre in Kuala Lumpur and to help them hire 150 local and regional staff across 18 different engineering disciplines in 12 months.
Working closely with 6 Search we tailored a phased approach to this brief.
Phase 1 focused on the design and implementation of a robust assessment framework and the launch of a Pan-Asian attraction and PR campaign. After developing a culturally sensitive high-volume assessment methodology, we trained a critical mass of assessors to protect the quality of the hiring decisions. In parallel, we went to market using a wide variety of print and on-line media including various novel channels like local radio, in-flight magazines and the KLIA Express.
Phase 2 focused on establishing a PSL of providers in Malaysia, China, India, Philippines and Indonesia, the roll-out of an Employee Referral Programme and fine-tuning the benefits package and relocation policy.
The brief was fully implemented within the allocated timescale and the Service Centre is now delivering specialist engineering and production optimization advice to businesses across the region. 6 Consulting has since been retained to help them establish an IT Support Centre in India.
